Terms of service.

ChangaSente is a crowdfunding platform connecting people who need to raise funds for genuine causes with donors who want to help. By creating an account or contributing to any campaign, you agree to these terms. If you disagree with any part, please do not use the platform.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, start a campaign, or make a donation on ChangaSente. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are legally permitted to enter into this agreement. ChangaSente reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts where we have reason to believe eligibility requirements are not met.

When you create a campaign you are representing that the cause is genuine, the information provided is accurate, and that funds raised will be used for the stated purpose. You agree to:

• Provide truthful and complete information about your fundraiser.
• Not use campaigns to deceive, defraud, or mislead donors.
• Submit identity and supporting documents when requested as part of our verification process.
• Use funds raised solely for the purpose described in your campaign.
• Comply with all applicable Ugandan laws and regulations.

ChangaSente reserves the right to pause, remove, or reject any campaign that violates these terms or that we deem harmful to the platform's integrity, donors, or the public interest.

Contributions made through ChangaSente are voluntary and generally non-refundable once processed. Before donating, you should satisfy yourself that a campaign is genuine. While ChangaSente takes steps to verify campaigns, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of every claim made by organisers.

If you believe a campaign is fraudulent, contact us immediately at support@changasente.com and we will investigate. Refunds may be issued at our discretion where fraud is confirmed.

ChangaSente charges no platform fee to campaign organisers. Payment processing fees are applied by our licensed payment partners (MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, Flutterwave, Paystack, and Fincra) and are displayed clearly before you confirm any transaction. These fees are set by the payment partners, not by ChangaSente, and may vary by payment method and amount.

Campaign organisers may request withdrawals of available funds to a registered mobile money account. Withdrawals are subject to identity verification and may be delayed or withheld if we have reason to suspect fraud, a compliance hold, or an ongoing dispute. We aim to process approved withdrawals within two to five business days.

You may not use ChangaSente to:

• Raise funds for illegal activities, hate speech, terrorism, or anything that violates Ugandan law.
• Misrepresent your identity or the identity of a beneficiary.
• Launder money or use the platform to circumvent financial regulations.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or ChangaSente staff.
• Scrape, spam, or automate interactions with the platform without written permission.

Violations may result in immediate account suspension, fund freezing, and referral to relevant authorities.

ChangaSente owns the platform, its design, code, and brand assets. You retain ownership of the content you upload — your campaign story, photos, and updates — but grant ChangaSente a licence to display, reproduce, and promote that content on the platform and in marketing materials. You can revoke this licence by removing the content or closing your account.

ChangaSente facilitates fundraising but is not responsible for how campaign funds are ultimately used by organisers. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChangaSente's liability for any claim arising from use of the platform is limited to the total fees paid by you to ChangaSente in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.

You may close your account at any time by contacting support. ChangaSente may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we determine that continued access poses a risk to other users or the platform. On termination, your public campaign pages may remain visible unless you request removal.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes arising from the use of ChangaSente shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.

We will notify registered users by email at least seven days before any material change to these terms takes effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
